Day 62: Tobermory - Southampton

km today: 115.3
total km: 4738.1

Continuing on with our new plan to maximize our sighseeing we detoured down to Southampton beach town. Of course we had to stop for rejuvinating baking along the way. Today it was well the worth the stop. At Harvest Moon Bakery, the products are organic and delicious. Paired with the zany atmosphere and bottomless free trade coffee, our lunch stop was made pretty ideal.Devouring vegan chocolate brownies, fresh peach strudel and free trade coffee.

We decided to get off the shoulderless and incredibly busy (even more so due to the long weekend) highway 6 and beeline it to highway 9 where, once again, it felt like stepping into a different world. We were met with quiet scerenity, seeing more cows than cars on a beautiful, sun-soaked gravel road.It was a refreshing change.

Picking all of our favourites off the cyclists menu, we settled into a waterfront dinner of 1 rotisserie chicken, 1L of triple chocolate truffle icecream, a 2lb bag of baby carrots and 3 new pounds of peaches (in that order). Katie does not recommend triple chocolate truffle ice cream and rotisserie chicken in the same mouthfull.Southampton upon arrival.
Southampton during our icecream-chicken sunset.
We randomly stumbled across a lantern festival complete with live music on our way back from dinner.
