Day 20: Creston - Cranbrook

km today: 102.3
total km: 1169.6

The third centurian, and the second of our string of three. Our day started with a trip to a local bakery next door to our campground, where we lucked out and picked up some half price day old (it was sunday), three corn, whole wheat bread - full of energy, and just what we needed. They also fed us a pizza sized cookie with our coffees, we were buzzing!
We stared the ride off with the sight of a brown bear, which walked across the road in front of us! We got really excited, cause we thought it was a grizzly, but my mother shattered our dreams by kindly correcting us that there is a distinction.
Forty km in, we hit our first pit stop in the 400 population town of Yahk. There, at "Two Scoop Steves" they have fantastic coffee and ice cream that looks equally good, if not better depending on which of us you are talking to. Their home made waffle cones, huge portions and huge line-ups (that seemed out of place for a town in the middle of nowhere) will definitely beckon us back if we are ever in the area.

Shortly after getting back on the road we took a stretching break, and took up a discussion of how we really needed some WD-40 to accomodate our bike chains. No more than one hour later we came accross this: Giggles abound, we picked up the almost full can and accomodated our bike chains. What are the chances.
Cranbrook did not strike a very good first impression on us, nor a good lasting impression. There are ugly (in spirit) people to go along with an ugly town. We were tired to boot, thanks in part to the time zone change that put us in bed an hour later than we were used to.
