Day 39, 40, 41: Winnipeg

km these days: 0 biking, a lot walking!

What started as one day off turned into three. Winnipeg just stole our hearts. There is so much to do in this beautiful old city. It's even better than Moose Jaw and we thought that was the holy grail.

The history of our country is ever more evident the further east we get. Just walking around the city occupied us for hours on end. The architecture is old stone with elaborate columns, engravings and sculptures. Picture taking took up a lot of our time here. There seemed to be a picture opportunity around every corner, and at every time of day as the lighting changed. If your look really closely you'll see the "doves" (don't you mean pigeons Brandon?
Yeah that's what I mean)

There are early 1900s advertisements like this on many of the buildings

This, you may be interested to know is the coldest corner in the world (courtesy of Kim Field, former Winnipeg resident)
