Day 99: Perce - Chandler

km today: 45.45
total km: 6790.1

Seeing as how cooking indoors with a Naptha stove is sorta dangerous, we forwent our usual oatmeal breakfast and traded it in for PB^2 sandwiches and TV instead. Much easier anyway.

Our plans for after breakfast were to pay tribute to the pierced rock, but since it required us to pay money as well we didn’t even bother! It was rainy and cloudy anyway, and the free view from the beach is actually far more dramatic, we found out upon further research.

Instead, we passed our time informing people that we were not still en route to Quebec City. It was a VERY lengthy blog session which only ended once our hunger got the best of us. After enjoying our lunch for breakfast so much we decided to move straight onto dinner, switching our usual lunch from PB^2 sandwiches for hot BBQ chicken sandwiches.

By then it was already 2:00 pm and really time to hit the road if we were going to make it anywhere that day. We made it 10km down the road before taking an hour long pit stop. St. Johns can wait, hunting for semi-precious rocks is clearly a mandatory part of any Gaspe Peninsula trip.

Maybe we shouldn’t have delayed so much though. For almost immediately after hitting the road the rain started, and did not stop. We were cold and wet by the time we arrived in Chandler. Ignoring the urge to check into a motel, we snuck under some trees behind the Chandler hospital. Somehow exhausted, we quickly cooked a hearty dinner and went to bed.
